Delegation of court functions

Some Acts and Regulations permit the senior judicial officer of a Court, or the Principal Registrar, to delegate certain functions to Registrars, or Deputy Registrars, that might otherwise be undertaken by a Judge or Associate Judge.

The instruments linked below detail the functions that the Chief Justice and the Principal Registrar of the Supreme Court have decided Registrars and Deputy Registrars may excercise in a quasi-judicial capacity:

Delegation to Registrars pursuant to section 13 of the Civil Procedure Act 2005
Delegation to Chief Clerks pursuant to section 13 of the Civil Procedure Act 2005
Delegation to Registrars and Chief Clerks pursuant to clause 15 of the Civil Procedure Regulation 2017
